Hello everyone,
Stage 1 and 2 done.
Wait, whose idea was this again? Phew… it’s tough going.
However the scenery is spectacular and probably some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve seen.
Can’t write much longer as got it late and need to eat and prep for tomorrow.

Such an amazing experience, and while it might seem tough, you are ending each day a little stronger than you began! Rooting for you and looking forward to the next update! xx (ps, all is great here, no issues, as I know you will want to know, so don't worry for a second!)

I'm following you all the way, darling. Yes, the landscape looks stunning -- but drones have it easy! You are showing sheer grit and grit is winning. Bravo on walking into camp on this Day 3. I saw a grey-haired Australian woman (she seemed lovely) soundbite and another 71 yr old woman so I am mightily relieved that you have 'live life as a cheery adventure' fellow participants sharing your colossal challenge. Wishing you recuperative sleep and supportable pain and getting through Day 4 with the positive of a lighter pack. Tons of admiration, tons of love. Mama

Testing the blog function.

I cannot believe it's 12 days to go. I am sitting at work with my business partner Caroline in front of me. At my side is my 9kg (test) backpack, I will go for a training run in a few hours to see how my shoulders are faring today.

I wish I still had a few more week up my sleeves as I'm feeling underprepared. Are my nerves taking over? Probably.

I can't wait to get on that place and finally meet the other competitors, it's been great having some chatter already.

Mongolia beckons. A country that has been on my dream list for many years for multiple reasons (the scenery, biodiversity, culture etc.).

But for now, back to work and try stay focused.

The adventure is not far away.

Good luck Claire!! Wishing you fantastic days out there and I'll be cheering you on from Canada. They say the training is tough and the race is easy; I hope this for you. Enjoy the start line and all the experience will give you.

time flies when you are weighing your food - and your socks - and your whistle - and the air your breathe. We love you. Go you good thing!

Claire -- I am sure you are ready. Just 12 days -- YIKES! Mongolia will not disappoint. The country is everything you ever dreamed of, once you get into the country side. Ulaanbaatar is a fairly chaotic, post Soviet Union urban metropolis with subtle charm. I look forward to meeting you. Mary
